It’s where the water line comes in: a basement wall, the garage, a crawl space or next to the water heater.
Turn it off
A round handle turns clockwise until it stops. A lever turns a quarter turn, so it sits across the pipe.
Let the pressure out
Open a tap on the lowest floor. If water is near outlets or the breaker box, stay clear of it.

Do you charge to come out?
The visit is $89. If you go ahead with the repair, it comes off the price.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For the common jobs above, yes. For anything we need to see first, you get a firm price at the visit, before any work.
Do you work weekends?
Saturdays 8am to 4pm at normal prices. Sundays and nights are for emergencies, with a $75 after-hours fee.
Do I need to be home?
Someone over 18 needs to let us in and say yes to the price. After that, you’re free to get on with your day.
