Launchwork
Web design, hosting and care

A website that works as hard as you do.

For businesses, projects and personal sites. I build it, host it and keep it up to date, so you can focus on your work.

From $600 to build · from $40/month to host and maintain

Half to start, half when you approve it.

It stays on this page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Three sample sites, nothing alike. Try them below ↓

How it works

  1. Send your content

Email the text you want on the page, plus your photos and logo if you have them.

  2. I build it

Half the build fee starts the work. You see a first draft and get two rounds of changes.

  3. Go live

Approve it and pay the other half. I launch it on your own domain and look after it from there.

Work

Three businesses. Three very different sites.

Each sample is built around what its customers need first: a phone number, a menu, a shop. The phone, the menu and the shop below aren’t pictures. They work, so give them a try.

Sample layout, not a real business.

Once the big number scrolls away, the call bar slides in. “Open now” and today’s hours come from your own clock.

What each part does (3)
  • The number is the biggest thing on the page. On phones, a call bar follows people down the page.
  • Open or closed comes from the visitor’s own clock, with a countdown in the last hour, and today’s hours are marked.
  • Prices for the common jobs and a three-box call-back form for people who’d rather not call.

Can be part of your build: custom fonts, a tap-to-call bar and a contact form.

Neighborhood bistro

Hungry people decide fast.

Tap a course. The line under “Dinner”, the happy-hour badge and the special all follow your own clock.

What each part does (3)
  • A big photo of the room and the name, with “opens tonight at 5pm” or “closes in 30 min” right under it.
  • A happy-hour badge and the day’s special that show up on their own at the right times.
  • A menu that reads like the printed one, and Book a table: pick a night and it suggests times. On your site, requests go to you or to the booking system you already use.

Can be part of your build: custom fonts, free stock photos and phone and desktop layouts.

What each part does (3)
  • A note from the maker, like a card in the box, says who makes everything.
  • A countdown to the next shop update, and a shop with a filter and stock tags, so people know what’s left and when to come back.
  • An “Ask a question” button floats on phones, for custom sets and local pickup.

Can be part of your build: custom fonts, a photo gallery and a contact form.

These are sample layouts for made-up businesses, with free stock photos. Custom fonts, a tap-to-call bar on phones and photo galleries can be part of any build. Online stores and custom apps are quoted separately.

Every build works with either plan. Switch plans or cancel with 30 days’ notice. Your domain is registered in your name, and domain fees are paid separately.

Why Launchwork

Low risk, no runaround.

Launchwork is a one-person studio, so the person you email is the person who designs, builds and looks after your site. No account managers and no hand-offs.

I keep things simple: clear prices, a plain-English contract, and a site that loads fast, works on every phone and is easy to change. If that sounds like what your business needs, I’d love to hear about it.

The Launchwork studioWeb design, hosting and care

  • Built for phones first

Most people will find you on their phone, so every site is designed for small screens first.

  • Low risk to start

Cancel before work starts and the first half comes back. You only pay the rest once you’ve approved the finished site.

  • You own your domain

It’s registered in your name. Cancel your care plan with 30 days’ notice and take a copy of your site files for $100.

  • Quick replies

Within one business day on Care Basic, the same business day on Care Plus.

FAQ

Good to know.

Something else on your mind? Email me.

Who do you work with?

Small and growing businesses, freelancers, creators, events and personal projects. If you want a clean, fast site that someone looks after for you, it’s a good fit. Planning something bigger or more involved? Get in touch and I’ll put together a quote.

What do I need to send?

The text you want on the page, plus your photos and logo if you have them: what you do and the details visitors need, like services, hours or contact info. I design the page around what you send. Writing the text from scratch and logo design aren’t included.

How long does it take?

Most one-page sites go live within one to two weeks of receiving your content and the first payment. Multi-page sites take a little longer. Two rounds of changes are included along the way.

When do I pay?

In two halves, by invoice or card: $300 and $300 for a one-page site, or $750 and $750 for a multi-page site. The first half is due before I start and books your spot. The second half is due when you approve the finished site, before it goes live. Change your mind before I start work and you get the first half back; once work has started, it isn’t refundable.

What isn’t included?

Domain fees, logo design, copywriting, professional photography, paid ads and ongoing search-ranking work. Sites over five pages and online stores are quoted separately.

What do the care plans cover?

Both include hosting, keeping your site online, and software and security updates. Care Basic ($40 a month) adds up to 3 small changes a month and replies within one business day. Care Plus ($75 a month) adds up to 8 small changes a month, same-business-day replies and a check-in every three months to refresh your content. A small change is a quick edit such as new text, a swapped photo, or updated hours, prices or contact details. Unused changes don’t roll over, and bigger requests are quoted before any work starts.

Can I cancel?

Yes. There’s no long-term commitment: either of us can cancel the care plan with 30 days’ written notice, and you can switch between Care Basic and Care Plus the same way.

Do I own my website?

Your domain is registered in your name and is always yours, and so are your logo, text and photos. I own the site’s code, and you can use it for as long as your care plan is active. If you cancel, you can get a copy of the site files for a one-time $100 fee.

Will I deal with you directly?

Yes. Launchwork is a one-person studio, so you deal directly with the person who designs, builds and looks after your site.

What if you’re ever unavailable?

You’re covered. If I ever need to stop looking after your site, you get 30 days’ written notice. Your domain is already in your name, and a copy of your site files ($100) lets you move it to someone else.

Let’s build yours.

Tell me a little about your business or project. I reply within one business day, and there’s nothing to pay until you decide to go ahead.
